Chandi Veeran Full Movie Tamil HD 1080185

Chandi Veeran is a 2015 Tamil drama film directed by A. Sarkunam and starring Atharvaa and Anandhi in the lead roles. The film revolves around the issue of water scarcity in a village and how a young man tries to solve it by confronting the rival village that has been blocking the water supply for years. The film was produced by Bala under his banner B Studios and released on August 7, 2015.

Plot

The film begins with a flashback of Paari (Atharvaa), a young boy who witnesses his father being killed by the people of the neighbouring village, Oothukkadu, over a dispute regarding the sharing of water from a canal. Paari grows up with a hatred for Oothukkadu and vows to avenge his father's death. He leaves his village, Chandi Veeran, and goes to Chennai to study engineering.

After completing his studies, Paari returns to his village and falls in love with Thamarai (Anandhi), the daughter of the village headman. He also learns that the water problem still persists and that his village is suffering from drought and poverty. He decides to take up the issue with the government officials and tries to get them to intervene. However, he faces resistance from both the corrupt officials and the Oothukkadu villagers, who are led by a ruthless man named Sivalingam (Lal).

Paari discovers that Sivalingam has a personal grudge against his village, as he was in love with Paari's mother (Ashvin Raja) in his youth, but she rejected him and married Paari's father. Sivalingam also has a son, Karthik (Harish Uthaman), who is an MLA and supports his father's actions. Paari challenges Sivalingam and Karthik to a duel and manages to defeat them both. He then convinces the Oothukkadu villagers to join hands with his village and share the water equally. He also marries Thamarai and lives happily ever after.

Release and reception

The film was released on August 7, 2015 by Sri Green Productions. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances of the lead actors and the social message, but criticized the screenplay and the climax. The film was a moderate success at the box office, grossing around 15 crore in its theatrical run.

Some of the reviews are as follows:

  • Sify.com gave the film 3 out of 5 stars and wrote, "Chandi Veeran is a decent rural entertainer with a good message on water scarcity. The film has its moments but could have been better with a tighter screenplay and a convincing climax."

  • The Times of India gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote, "Chandi Veeran is a well-intentioned film that wants to highlight the water problems that people in rural areas face, but it is also a frustratingly underwhelming film that fails to make us care for its characters or their issues."

  • The Hindu gave the film a negative review and wrote, "Chandi Veeran is a disappointing film that wastes its potential and ends up as a clichéd and predictable affair. The film lacks the charm and humour of Sarkunam's previous films and fails to engage the audience."
